Tribe Field Hockey Looks to U-Penn to Come Back

The University of Virginia, Providence, Columbia and Princeton field hockey teams might be able to claim a victory over our Tribe ladies this season. But don’t expect that to lower the hype and excitement these women have on the field.

And despite the young age of the field hockey squad (nine players are freshmen and eight are sophomores), our girls boast a number of prestigious accomplishments. Most were all-state or all-district players in high school and a few have held top five scorer titles in the CAA over the past few years.

So far this season, sophomore goalkeeper Carrie Thompson has upwards of 12 saves and sophomore Rebecca Wagner put tribe on the scoreboard in the first 10 minutes of the Providence game.

The team will face the Pennslyvania Quakers this weekend on Saturday at 11 a.m., at home.
